Odia's Burial: Befitting Home-Going Ceremonies for A Physiotherapy Icon

Chukuka Enwemeka Delivers First Physiotherapy Distinguished Visiting Scholars Lecture at UNIBEN

Chukuka Enwemeka Eulogizes Late Professor VCB Nwuga during the 1st Nwuga Foundation Lecture
Professor Chukuka S. Enwemeka, Provost and Senior Vice-President of the San Diego State University gave an eulogy of Professor Nwuga in the presence of the Nwuga family, distinguished guests, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers. Profesor Enwemeka after the eulogy also delivered the first inaugural lecture in honour of Professor Nwuga titled: Quantum Medicine: The promise of light as a clinical armamentarium. E.B. John Visits Great Lakes University of Kisumu, Kenya
May 24-26, 2014: Dr. Emmanuel B. John, Executive Director of the Nigeria Physiotherapy Network was invited by the Vice-chancellor of the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), Kisumu, Kenya to consult for their various physiotherpy programs. GLUK currently operates a B.Sc Physiotherapy degree, and a Diploma-BScPT Bridge programs. The University aspire to also commence a MSc in Physiotherapy program in the future. 2nd Cohort of Nigerian Physiotherapists Matriculate into UMFlint's T-DPT Program
The online Transitional Doctor Physical Therapy (t-DPT) program of University of Michigan-Flint (UMFlint) faciltated for Nigerian Physiotherapists ny the Nigeria Physiotherapy Network in making good progress. Officials from the UMFlint visited Nigeria from August 19-22 to conduct an orientation program for matriculated students for the tDPT program.

E.B. John visits Vice-Chancellor (President), University of Nigeria, and the Medical Rehabilitation Program
The Honourable Vice-Chancellor (President) of the University of Nigeria (UNN), Professor Bartho Okolo recently extended an invitation to Dr. Emmanuel B. John, Executive Director of the Nigeria Physiotherapy Network to consult and conduct a program assessment of the Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (BMR) Program at the University. Dr. John visited the UNN BMR program July 28-31, 2013; and has since submitted his report and recommendations on program upgrade to the Honourable Vice-Chancellor. Nigerian Physiotherapists in the US Host the Vice-Chancellor (President) of UNN in Baltimore, MD
Prof. Batho Okolo, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria was hosted by US-based Nigerian Physiotherapists to a dinner in Baltimore, MD. This was a follow up to Dr. E.B. John's visit to UNN July 29-31, 2013 on the invitation of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor for Programmatic assessment of the BMR program at UNN. The Vice-Chancelor and his entourage were on official UNN visit to the US at the time. Here are some pictures from the Dinner in honour of Prof. Okolo and his entourage. US based Nigerian physiotherapists at the dinner were: Dr. Muoyo Okome, Dr. Abereoje, Dr. Adeola Popoola, Dr. Kamaldeen Sanni and Dr. Emmanuel B. John. Discussions bordering on how to help strengthen the UNN BMR program was discussed.

Dr. Emmanuel.B. John Donates E-Library to Alma Mata
Dr. Emmanuel B. John, an Alumnus of the Department of Physiotherapy, College of Medicine, University of Lagos has donated a computer set with latest software and over 140 electronic textbooks and a non-expiring anti-virus package, all valued at over One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N1.5m), to the Department of Physiotherapy, College of Medicine, University of Lagos. The Provost, Prof. O.A. Atoyebi and other CMUL officials were on hand to receive the gift. Enjoy!

Giving Back Program ships Physiotherapy text-books and Equipment to New PT Program in Nigeria
The "Giving Back Program" initiated by the Executive Director of the Nigeria Physiotherapy Network, Dr. Emmanuel B. John has successfully shipped two batches of physical therapy text-books and equipment to the new Physiotherapy Program at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi, Anambra State Nigeria. This pilot program to help support physical therapy programs in Nigeria is just a beginning of efforts by Nigerian trained physical therapists in the diaspora to give back.In recognition of this effort, the Departmental Library of the Medical Rehabilitation Department at Nnamdi Azikiwe University has been renamed the "Dr. E.B. John's Library".

WCPT 2007, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
The 15th International Congress of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy held in Vancouver, British Columbia from June 2-7, 2007. Nigerian physiotherapists from Nigeria and around the globe were among the congress participants. Some colleagues presented papers during the WCPT 2007 congress.
