UMFlint conducts Orientation Program for 2nd Cohort of Nigerian t-DPT Students
The online Transitional Doctor Physical Therapy (t-DPT) program of University of Michigan-Flint (UMFlint) faciltated for Nigerian Physiotherapists by the Nigeria Physiotherapy Network in making good progress. Officials from the UMFlint visited Nigeria from August 19-22 to conduct an orientation program for matriculated students for the tDPT program.
Dr. Cindy Pfalzer, Professor, Interim Co-Director, Associate Director of Research and Post-Professional Education in the Physical Therapy Program, and Mr. Jason Gooding, Senior IT Personnel conducted the 2-day Orientation program. Before leaving, Nigeria, the UMFlint Team also joined officials of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka for discussions of potential collaborations between the two Institutions. The UMFlint, and NAU signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2011. Eminent Nigerian Physiotherapist, Col (Dr.) Paschal O. Mogbo, on behalf of the Nigeria Physiotherapy Network was chief host of the UMFlint team.
The 1st cohort of Nigerian Physiotherapists who enrolled in the UMFlint tDPT program in August 2011 are on track to graduate with Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees in May 2013!
