Professor Chukuka Enwemeka Appointed University Distinguished Professor
The Nigeria Physiotherapy Network is pleased to announced that our own Professor Chukuka S. Enwemeka has been appointed a Dinstinguished University Professor (DUP) by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), WI, USA.
A DUP appointment is the highest honour bestowed on the very topmost few percent tenured full professors. This is a honor to further recognize that even after becoming a tenured full professor, Professor Enwemeka has remained on the cutting edge of scholarly productivity in addition to his distiguish career as a University Administrator.
Before coming to UWM in 2009, Professor Enwemeka who is a 1978 graduate of the University of Ibadan BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy program served as Professor and Dean, New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) School of Health Professions, Behavioral and Health Sciences from March 1, 2003 to July 31, 2009. Prior to his NYIT position he was Professor and Chairman, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas from 1993 to 2003.
Professor Enwemeka is an astute researcher, a vastly published author, international Journal Editor-in-Chief, a Physical Therapist, an anatomist, a Consultant, a highly sorted-after international speaker, an academic administrator and leader, a mentor, one of the foremost experts on Laser Therapy and photobiology, an educational consultant and curriculum expert, a sports medicine expert, a visiting professor to various schools around the world, and much more.
